We work with a range of people to fascinate young people and their communities about the wonders of science and engineering in the world around us. If you teach primary or secondary science, are involved in science education or communication, are a school senior leader or governor, academic, research scientist/engineer or a business in science or engineering then the Hub will be of interest to you.Located within the University of Manchester’sFaculty of Science & Engineering, we bring our expertise, built up over nearly 20 years to work with schools across Greater Manchester.  By focusing on the development of in-service teachers with a range of dynamic partners we are relentless in our drive to inspire, fascinate and improve the teaching and learning of science in our schools today. Our remit is mainly primary school science curriculum and professional development.

Join us for the exciting launch of the 2026 Great Science Share for Schools (GSSfS) enquiries and discover the brand-new Great Guided Enquiry resources — designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and collaboration in young scientists aged 5–14 years.At the heart of GSSfS is a simple but powerful idea: inspiring pupils to ask, investigate and share their own scientific questions.This year’s theme, “Globally Curious,” encourages pupils to explore what they want to learn or find out about within their locality, region, country or continent — nurturing curiosity about the world around them and beyond.During this interactive webinar, you’ll discover how the new resources promote inclusive and engaging approaches to working scientifically, helping every pupil to see themselves as a scientist.You’ll also get a first look at our new 2026 Toolkit and Career Chat resources, with practical guidance on how to use them effectively within your science curriculum.Whether you’re new to GSSfS or a returning participant, this session will leave you inspired, equipped and ready to make 2026 your most impactful science share yet!
