Join me, Tobias James, at Tichborne Studio for a hands-on portrait photography workshop! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, this event is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their skills and creativity in capturing stunning portraits. Experiment with different lighting techniques, and get inspired by some terrific models from all walks of life.. Don’t miss this opportunity to take your portrait photography to the next level!
You will leave the studio with far more confidence to be creative with lighting as well as being able to add some strong images to your portfolios and social media feeds.
We will be working with strobe lighting, learning how to shape the light and how this will effect the aesthetics of your portraits.
This is a full-day course with an educational focus: as well as being a fun and sociable day, you’ll produce some amazing images and have some new skills in your toolkit!

How do you want to get there?
Introductions
An introduction in to how we use strobe lighting to create striking portraits. During this section you will also set up your cameras ready for the days shooting. If you use a mirrorless camera please make sure you have exposure preview facilities turned off. [ BUT we will deal with this on the day !!]
First Sitter
We will be joined by are first model and we will use variations of the first light set up with them. You will all have plenty of 121 time with the model and your images will be constantly appraised by me while I advise you one how to improve and work towards your final finished shots. I take great care in organising a diverse range of sitters for these workshops. Each sitter gives their time in exchange for some of your final images from the day for them to use as they see fit. They are usually drawn from creative fields, and we have artists, musicians, writers and the occasional model join us to make these events as creative as possible. You will also be encouraged to assist in each other creative process throughout the day, ensuring everyone gets plenty of hands on experience!
Second Sitter
We will be joined by our second model and I will demonstrate a completely new lighting set up. You will all have 121 time the the sitter and be encourage to adjust the lighting to suit your own creative goals. Full technical support will be given throughout. During this time you will be encourage to take a 30 minute break for lunch. We rotate lunch to allow even more time with the modes attending on the day!
