Welcome all 1st year Pembroke undergraduates!

Please join us for drinks in the Old Library Wednesday 4rd March, from 5.30 – 7pm, to find out about the LEAP Programme and whether it might be a good fit for you. Applications to join the next LEAP cohort will open straight after the event; this opportunity is for 1st year undergraduates who are intrested in participating in LEAP in their second year at Pembroke (starting in Michaelmas 2026).

At the event, you’ll have the chance to chat informally to Pembroke students from the third LEAP cohort who will share their experiences of the programme, in particular their LEAP internships and adventures. The Master will say a few words at 5.45pm, and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions, while enjoying free wine, beer and soft drinks.

What is the LEAP programme?

The Leadership, Enterprise & Adventure at Pembroke Programme helps students develop their confidence and career prospects through training, events, mentoring, networking, internships and adventures. We launched the programme in the academic year 2022-23, and are currently working with our fourth cohort of LEAP students. From this event onwards you’ll have the opportunity to apply to join the next LEAP cohort

Successful applicants will:

  • be paired with career mentors (from late summer onwards)
  • have priority access to LEAP workshops and events next academic year
  • receive bespoke support with applying for internships for summer 2027 - and access to grants to subsidise accommodation / travel costs
  • have the opportunity to apply for LEAP adventure grants for summer 2027 (‘adventures’ may involve overseas travel, volunteering, physical challenges etc). Adventure grants are up to £2.5k per student.

Who is the LEAP programme for?

  • Students who are unsure of their future direction after leaving Pembroke, or who need help plotting a course to their preferred next step
  • Students who are struggling with their confidence
  • Students who face additional constraints in relation to career progression (e.g. financial constraints, disability, gender, race, caring responsibilities, lack of a network etc.)

Please visit the LEAP Website for more information. There you can discover the incredible experiences of our students by diving into their inspiring blogs.
