Children at Risk of Exploitation – Prevention and Awareness Session
Overview
We are pleased to invite you to attend an online Children at Risk of Exploitation – Prevention and Awareness Session, facilitated by the charity Safe and Sound, taking place on Thursday 12 February from 1.00pm to 2.00pm.
This session is designed to increase understanding of the different forms of exploitation that can affect children and young people, help identify potential risks and warning signs, and provide practical guidance on what you can do to help keep children safe.
During the session, the facilitators will cover:
- What exploitation is and how it affects children
- Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
- Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), including County Lines
- Grooming indicators and how grooming occurs
- Vulnerabilities – who may be at greater risk
- Signs and indicators of exploitation
- Radicalisation and extremism
- Online safety
- What you can do if you have concerns
The session will last approximately one hour and is suitable for parent carers, professionals, and anyone interested in safeguarding and protecting children and young people.
