Overview

Orange Beak Studio presents an online talk and Q&A with Professor of Illustration Martin Salisbury

Join us for an evening with Martin Salisbury, Professor of Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art (Anglia Ruskin University). Here Martin designed the world renowned MA Children’s Book Illustration programme which today has around 150 students from 29 countries.

Martin started his career as a freelance illustrator focussing particularly on fiction and non-fiction for older children. He is the author of many books on the practice and theory of illustration as he has a particular interest in bringing understanding and appreciation of the art of illustration and picture book making to a wider audience. His wide catalogue of these books have been published in many languages and countries around the world and reprinted many times.

In addition to teaching and writing Martin has acted as chair of the international jury at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and as a member of the jury at the CJ Picturebook Awards (Seoul) and the Global Illustration Awards (China).

We look forward to hearing about Martin’s extensive career and work and love of illustrators' sketchbooks. Following the talk there will be an audience Q&A opportunity.

The event will be held online via ZOOM - the link will be sent to you directly via email on the day of the talk around 5pm UK time.

All tickets are £16 INCLUSIVE of the booking fee - and are non-refundable.

The event is LIVE - but buying a ticket will give you access to a recording which will be available to view back for one week afterwards. You will be sent a link for this the day after the event.
