Fix Food for Good: Join our Food Bill campaign webinar
Overview
Volatile food prices on the high street; increasing pressure on farmers and growers; rising food-related ill health, growing food insecurity, and volatile food prices all point to the same conclusion: our food system isn’t working, and it will not improve without concerted action from central government.
That’s why Sustain, The Food Foundation and Green Alliance are part of a new campaign for a Good Food Bill: legislation to set long-term direction, accountability and ambition for food policy.
To mark the launch of the campaign, we’re hosting a members-only webinar for organisations in the Food Strategy alliances.
We will hear from Kath Dalmeny, Chief Executive of Sustain; Dr Hannah Brinsden, Head of Policy at The Food Foundation; and Sam Chetan-Walsh, Senior Political Advisor at Green Alliance.
What we’ll cover
- Why the current approach to food policy is failing — and why legislation is the missing piece
- The core aims and mechanisms of the proposed Good Food Bill
- The political opportunity ahead, and what makes this moment different
- How Food Strategy alliance members can support and strengthen the campaign
Who it’s for
This webinar is only open to members of the Food Strategy alliances, which includes members from the Sustain alliance, Obesity Healthy Alliance, Plant based food alliance, Wildlife and Countryside Link, and Eating Better.
It will be particularly relevant for organisations working on:
- food and farming
- children’s health and public health
- poverty, access to food and inequalities
- environmental sustainability and long-term resilience
Whether your organisation is already actively campaigning on food policy or is looking to understand how a Good Food Bill could support your goals, we encourage you to attend.
