STATEMENT ON COVID-19

Dear Delegate,

As you are no doubt aware, the current situation with COVID-19 means that restrictions have been placed on large gatherings of people in order to help to reduce the spread of infection.

In recognition of the recent recommendations from Public Health England and the UK Government on social distancing measures, it has been decided to postpone the 19th Latest Advances in Psychiatry Symposium that was to be held on March 26th, 2020.

We are very sorry for the disruption and disappointment that this may cause to your plans. A provisional date is being set for the symposium to run in September this year, and we will let you know the details as soon as possible.

Symposium tickets can be automatically transferred to the rescheduled date, but if required then symposium tickets purchased via the Eventbrite site will be refunded. You can request a refund either via the Eventbrite website, or send an email to Felix David (fdavid@wiley.com). Similarly, if your symposium payment was taken via card over the phone then this can also be refunded. In order to ensure that this is completed as smoothly as possible, please contact Felix David (fdavid@wiley.com) to provide BACS details for repayment to take place.

We thank you for your patience in helping us deal with the developing situation, and we will be in touch as soon as we can to let you know our next steps for the symposium. We are here to support you if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

The Wiley Team

We would like to warmly invite you to join us at the 19th Latest Advances in Psychiatry International Symposium, organised on behalf of the International Society for Affective Disorders (ISAD) and the journal Progress in Neurology and Psychiatry (Wiley).

Ticket prices for the symposium are £185 + VAT (£222).

Once again the event will be held at the Royal College of Physicians, Regent’s Park in London and the theme is: 'Mind, brain and body'.

This year we are delighted to have the keynote lecture on the ‘When childhood trauma shape mind, brain and body in bipolar disorder: current knowledge and impact on management’ by Professor Bruno Etain, Université Paris Diderot. Other excellent speakers at the event include Professor Dag Aarsland, Professor Declan Murphy, Professor Eric Taylor, Professor Julia Sinclair and Professor R. Hamish McAllister-Williams. Key topics include: the relationship between depression and neurodegeneration, and new approaches to the management of autism, difficult to treat depression, ADHD and alcohol use disorders.

The conference is intended to be part of a structured CPD programme - so the objective is to provide you with independent, up-to-date, practical information that will help you achieve your personal CPD objectives and aid decision-making in your everyday clinical practice. The day will be equivalent to five hours educational activity.

Some comments from delegates that attended the 2019 symposium described it as: “very useful courses for CPD”, “very good symposium. Wonderful speakers”, “highly relevant in my clinical work”.
