Employing over 2,000 people across approximately 200 organisations, including in the digital sector, advanced manufacturing, and professional services, the industry has rocketed from a turn-over of £17m in 2016/17 to £360m in 2022/23.
Now, with North West technologies preparing to power robotic missions to The Moon and Mars, and agreements signed between the Mayors of Liverpool City Region, Greater Manchester, and the builders of the next generation of Human-rated space habitats, the region stands ready to become a major player in the sector, nationally, internationally, and beyond.
