2-Day Complex and Sensitive Cases:
Advanced Facilitator Training
This training is for experienced restorative practitioners only. You must have attended a recognised restorative conferencing facilitator skills training and have considerable practical conferencing experience prior to attendance on this event.
This training course prepares experienced restorative conferencing practitioners to better manage complex and sensitive restorative cases.
Your experienced Restorative and Relational Processes trainer/practitioners John Boulton and Les Davey, will be joined by CEO Maeve Lewis and Advocacy Director Deirdre Kenny at ‘One in Four’ http://www.oneinfour.ie/ , who are providing the Dublin centre venue. This course will therefore be uniquely grounded in good and current practice of using RP with sexual abuse case.
The objective of the 2-Day Complex and Sensitive Cases: Advanced Facilitator Training, is to prepare experienced restorative practitioners for the management of sensitive and complex restorative practice cases. This two day event offers an in depth and very practical experience.
The course focuses on working restoratively with sensitive and complex cases, following best practice guidance in this important aspect of restorative practice. As well as circle discussion on the preparation for and conferencing of sensitive and complex cases, the two days will also include case studies including sexual abuse and family issues, role playing such cases and the award winning documentary ‘Facing the Demons - exploring conferencing as a response to murder - followed by circle discussions.
AGENDA & MATERIALS
Students receive a detailed workbook which follows the course, plus the paper ‘Preparation for Serious Crime – Considerations and Sensitivities’ and other useful handouts and resources.
Each day runs 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
