2 day IN PERSON Peer Support Training

Welcome to our 2 day in person Peer Support Training event! Join us for an interactive and informative training session designed to enhance your peer support skills.

Whether you are new to peer support or looking to refresh your knowledge, this training is perfect for you. Our experienced trainers will cover a range of topics including boundaries within the working relationship, a variety of active listening/communication skills, whilst also looking at the core principles of a trauma informed approach to working. The attendees are also given the opportunity to look at the sharing of their own lived experience and to learn a framework/guidelines in which to do this. This can prepare the worker for safe and appropriate self-disclosure within the Peer Support Worker/Client relationship. The course finishes by looking at the important issue of self-care and reflection to prepare the worker with the essential tools to preserve their own wellbeing.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences, and learn valuable skills to support others.

Sign up now and take your peer support abilities to the next level!

Accreditation Certificate:

We are delighted to be able to offer this Level 3 Accredited (by OCN Learning) Course in Peer Support Work. The course has been structured around some set learning objectives and in order to ‘assess’ for these we have set some activities within the training via interactive discussions around the subject content. We aim to be as supportive and as inclusive as possible and pledge to provide a non-judgemental learning environment with a variety of ways in which to contribute and meet these objectives. If an attendee does not wish to participate in these activities they are welcome to still attend this training but it will not be possible for them to achieve the accreditation certificate. We are happy instead to provide a ‘letter of attendance’ on request to such participants.

Flexibility:

We recognise that attendees will have a variety of competing time commitments and are happy to provide flexibility to help participants complete this training. If one or two sections are missed within the two day training then we are happy to send over training slides afterwards and allow attendees to complete activities retrospectively. If more than a quarter of the two day content is missed however then this would not be realistic and the participant would need to rebook on the training to complete the course (see below for cancellation policy).

Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason attendees wish to re-schedule their training dates, they must notify The Cellar Trust of a cancellation at least 72 hours before the training is due to start. Should any re-scheduled dates also require cancellation, The Cellar Trust cannot guarantee that any further dates will be provided to individuals. There will also be additional cancellation costs passed on to individuals who have booked through Eventbrite. Should we not receive such notice then re-bookings would need to be made at the additional cost of each participant. The Cellar Trust reserve the right to cancel at our discretion.
