Global Medical Training are pleased to offer this 2 day Paediatric First Aid Course which is taught by experienced Paramedics and meets the requirements for OFSTED and EYFS. We have a track record of providing excellent training (see our reviews) and are confident that you’ll struggle to find a training course as high in quality and knowledge as this one.

The course will run from 0900-1600 each day (including breaks)

We have a limited number of early bird tickets available at a reduced price so please do book early to avoid disappointment as all of our paediatric courses fill up extremely quickly.

What's covered on the course?

Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider.
Be able to assess an emergency situation safely

Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child:

who is unresponsive and breathing normally, including child and infant resuscitation
who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
who has a foreign body airway obstruction
with external bleeding
with injuries to bones, joints and muscles.

Understand how to administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness:

sickle cell crisis
diabetic emergencies
asthma attack
allergic reaction
meningitis
febrile convulsions.

Understand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child:

who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and cold
who has sustained an electric shock
with burns or scalds
who has been poisoned
who has been bitten or stung
with minor injuries, including cuts, grazes, bumps and bruises, small splinters and nose bleeds
with conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose
with head and spinal injuries
with anaphylaxis
who is suffering from shock.

Course delegates are assessed through continuous observation during practical sessions and through a short written paper at the end of the course.

All delegates will receive a CPR keyring and comprehensive manual to take away.

On successful completion delegates will be issued with a certificate which will be valid for 3 years, although regular refresher training is recommended.
