LaTeX for Scientific Writing
Module 5 of Lib4RI’s introductory course «Searching & Managing Scientific Information» for PhD students and other affiliates of Eawag, Empa, PSI and WSL
AIMS
You are given confidence in using LaTeX for your publications, and learn how to cite properly using BibTeX.
CONTENT
- Short summary of LaTeX basics
- Tables, figures and formulae
- The LaTeX error log and common errors to avoid
- BibTeX, citation styles and tips on JabRef and Zotero
ORGANISATION
- Presentations with examples/exercises and one hour question time
- Course language is English
- No course fee
- Required: Please bring your laptop with working LaTeX and BibTeX installations
Brief instructions for example installations will be available on our website at www.lib4ri.ch/services/trainings.html ca 1 week prior to the session. Please contact us prior to the session should you require assistance with your installation. - An extra hour for questions is available right after the session
