Dr. Janet Rose: “The Future of Education: Secure Base Leadership and Pupil Self-regulation”
Dr. Janet Rose is the Principal of Norland College. She was previously a Reader in Education, Principal Lecturer and Programme Leader in Education at Bath Spa University. She has worked with the NCTL and Teach First, presented her research at the House of Lords, worked with Teaching Schools and Virtual Schools around the UK and led training for a number of LAs and professional organisations. She recently led a national research project called Attachment Aware Schools and Settings - a comprehensive programme of support for children affected by early attachment difficulties, trauma and neglect.
Professor Mick Waters : The 21st Century Primary School : Effectiveness and Sustainability. Mick has a range of career experiences that inform his work. Currently, he works with the schools in the Black Country Challenge in raising standards in the West Midlands. He works with schools in Sheffield in innovative approaches to learning and on several other initiatives to push the boundaries for making learning better. He is also president of the Curriculum Foundation, which seeks to promote a voice for the power and potential of the whole curriculum. During his career, Mick has been a teacher and head teacher before working at senior levels in Birmingham and Manchester Local Authorities. He worked at a national level with the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority where he was Director of Curriculum.
Katherine Murby : Leadership resilience and managing change. Katherine Murby is a highly regarded learning and development professional with more than 20 years experience of working in the people development arena. With over 15 years experience working for a major blue chip organisation, she has led, designed and implemented transformational people programmes. Using her experience of leading local and national teams, Katherine runs her own training and coaching consultancy. Katherine’s main passion is in the area of training and behavioural change, particularly in the context of leadership development
