Description

The next Annual General Meeting of the ALD will take place on Saturday 24th March 2018.

The AGM is open to all members of the ALD, although only Professional, Fellow and Life members are entitled to vote at an AGM, if they have FULLY paid their outstanding subscriptions for 2017/18. If you are in any doubt whether you owe any subscription monies, again please contact membership@ald.org.uk as soon as possible.

Any voting members that cannot attend the AGM will be eligible to appoint a Proxy in their place. Please inform the Office no later than 24 HOURS before the start of the meeting if you wish to appoint a proxy the easiest way to register your proxy is to complete this Survey Monkey Form: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/aldproxyform or you can contact election@ald.org.uk directly.

This year, the afternoon session will be a series of discussions around the themes identified and discussed at the recent Strategy weekend that the Executive Committee took part in. Full details of these can be found in the AGM document on ALD website by following this link

We are all for sale – so how do I get the most for me?

With Philip Norfolk of Ambersphere

AKA Selling and Marketing for Freelancers. What are effective ways to tell the world what we do well and get good quality work? Trying to get the sales bit of freelance life as useful rather than embarrassing.

Vectorworks for LDs and the rest of us

From getting started through to working in 3d. Your questions and queries answered.


Session D
Lighting Programming
With Stuart Porter and Stuart Cross

Your questions answered. A session for LD's and programmers, looking at MAII and EOS desks, with top programmers.

Lighting designers, Equity and New Agreements

The ALD is now a member of an Equity Working Group to look at fundamental changes to the existing agreements for lighting designers to bring them more in line with the working practices of 21st centrury practice and expectations. This is your chance to feed your thoughts and experiences into these discussions directly.
