We are delighted to welcome you to the 2018 Sussex Global Health and Development Conference, entitled 'Global Health and Social Justice: Tackling the Root Causes of Inequity', taking place on April 28th - 29th 2018.
This year's conference will encompass a range of key topics in global health and international development from critical, analytical and comparative perspectives. Themes include Climate, Environmental Justice and Health, Governance and Development for Health, Neoliberalism and the Political Economy of Health, Conflict and the Refugee Crisis and Gender Justice and Health Rights among many others.
Staged across two engaging and informative days in late-April, this year’s event will feature over 40 guest speakers representing a broad spectrum of backgrounds relating to global health and international development.
The weekend will focus on a selection of key issues informed by experienced colleagues in the field, delivered through plenary sessions, panel discussions, breakout sessions, small-group seminars, interviews, film screenings and an art exhibition. Please note that tickets are not transferable, however they may be refunded up to one day prior to the event.
Thanks to the generosity of the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex we are able to offer a 20% discount for all Global Studies students who would like to attend the conference. In order to redeem this 20% discount you need to purchase a ticket to the conference and send an email to info@corbissussex.org letting us know that you study at the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex and we will promptly reimburse you for 20% of the cost of your ticket.
If you would like to attend the conference but are unable to do so due to financial costs, please email info@corbissussex.org with details of your interest in global health and the conference. If possible, a limited number of subsidised tickets will be made available.
