The 2019 Community Cinema Conference is a weekend-long celebration of volunteer-led cinema, packed with masterclasses and workshops, panel discussions, exciting film previews and much more. The conference will take place at The Workstation in Sheffield, with film screenings at Showroom Cinema and The Void Cinema in Sheffield Hallam University.

Some of the highlights include a masterclass from Rebecca Ellis on cult musicals and their lasting charm alongside a screening of cult classic Little Shop of Horrors, a session on making your film screenings more welcoming and accessible, and 'The Big Debate' where we discuss cinema for all vs cinema for all, chaired by writer and broadcaster Danny Leigh.

There will also be masterclasses and workshops delivered by members of the Cinema For All team, including one offering invaluable advice on fundraising for your community cinema. As well as all of this, we have screenings of For Sama, Jellyfish, The Third Wife, We The Animals, A Moon For My Father and Seahorse with a Q&A with director Jeanie Finlay.

On the Saturday night, you will attend the Film Society of the Year Awards and after party, where we will get together to celebrate the incredible work of community cinemas across the UK! We are thrilled that Jeanie Finlay, documentary director extraordinaire of Sound It Out, Seahorse and Emmy nominated Game of Thrones: The Last Watch will be co-hosting the awards this year.

Food and refreshments throughout the weekend are included in the ticket price!
