2019 Festival of Achievement - Ceremony 3

Wednesday 26 June 2019 - 9.45am for 10.30am until c.12pm

This ceremony is for: 16-19 years, apprenticeship and part time students studying Business, Travel and Tourism, IT, International, Engineering, Motor Vehicle and Construction Study Programmes

We are extremely proud of CRC’s students, and as such delighted to invite you to celebrate your (or your child's) success at the Festival of Achievement 2019. On the day, we will celebrate the commitment and determination of students who have completed their course and recognise outstanding academic achievement.

The Cambridge Campus is highly accessible by road, train, bus and bike.

You can book your place and up to two guest places for family members and friends. Please note: places are limited and not guaranteed, so early booking is advised to secure places and to avoid disappointment.

The festival will see several celebrations – with the timing of your individual event outlined here:

Ceremony timetable:

09:45 Students and guests to arrive at the Cambridge Campus for registration and reception
10:30 Ceremony set to start
12:00 Ceremony closes (end time may vary)

To book your place you will need the following:

  • Student ID Number (on your ID badge and on the invite letter)

  • Course Code and name (on the invite letter)

  • Your Guest details, if attending (including any access requirements)

The event is open to all students with a predicted/ course pass.

By booking on the Festival of Achievement, delegates give permission for personal data to be stored using the Eventbrite third-party event management system. Also, for Cambridge Regional College (CRC) to use event photography for publicity purposes including students being presented with certificates/awards and general room shots which will be published online post-event.


FAQs

What is the dress code?

The dress code for this event is smart/casual.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Some CRC shuttle bus transport will be provided for study programme students from Huntingdon Campus however, seats are limited and will need to be booked. Please note this is for students only, guests will need to make their own travel arrangements.

There is free parking available on site at the campus.

What should I bring to the event?

Students are requested to wear their College ID badge and bring a printed copy of their Festival of Achievement event ticket. For access purposes, your guests will also require a copy of their individually printed ticket.

For safety precautions, students are requested not to bring rucksacks, holdalls or large bags to this event. All attendees are permitted to bring small bags but will be asked to present them for a security check on arrival.

Delegates are invited to take personal photographs of their own family and friends, however, there will be an official photographer on site too.

Pushchairs are not permitted into the main Marquee. There will be storage available.

What will I do when I arrive at the event?

To allow seating in course groups and presentation order, students are requested to please arrive promptly as doors open at 9:45am. At this time, guests will be invited to wait in the reception area where light refreshments will be available for purchase.

You will be informed of seating arrangements and asked to join your specific course group in the main Marquee.

What will happen in the ceremony?

When it’s time for the ceremony, guests will be called across to take their seats.

Moving on to student certificate presentation, your group will be signaled to queue at the side of the stage when you will then be called up individually by name to receive your certificate. At this point, you will have your official photograph taken. You will leave the stage at the opposite end and re-take your seat again.

Further awards will be announced for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Outstanding Students.

Please note: Guests will be seated separately to students.

Will there be refreshments?

Students will be offered bottled water and additional water will be available from the venue at the bar which will also operate a cash bar through-out.


Am I allowed more than 2 guests?

Seats are limited by venue capacity - places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. You can request additional seats, however, written confirmation of these will be based on availability and not confirmed until 1 week prior to the event. You can make the request on this booking form.


General health & safety:

Please specify all access requirements (for you and your guests) at the time of booking, including stage side access for presentation purposes.

Please do not bring any liquids with you - students will be provided with bottled water and The Venue, Quy Mill Hotel and Spa will provide water or sell soft drinks through-out.

This event is not suited to young children and any in attendance will need to be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times. Children will not be permitted on stage and organisers cannot be responsible for their welfare.

Individuals are responsible for their own travel and safety to and from the venue. Those who select to use the shuttle bus are responsible for ensuring they are at the bus in time for departures. Further details about shuttle buses will be sent through to those booked on to this.

CRC reserve the right to cancel delegate places should students not meet attendance eligibility.

The College does not accept responsibility and expressly excludes liability to the fullest extent permitted by law for:

• Any loss or damage to any personal property left unattended during an event organised by the College unless caused by the negligence of the College or its employees;

• Or any personal injury suffered by you at a College event unless caused by the negligence of the College or its employees.

Events may include special lighting effects.
