Description

Join us for the 2019 OCLC Research & Resource Sharing Forum, Australia & New Zealand

OCLC invites library leaders and ILL professionals to Sydney, New South Wales to participate in the 2019 OCLC Research & Resource Sharing Forum. This new interpretation of past events will kick off with a high-level discussion of recent OCLC Research work, highlighting trends and strategic challenges. You will hear from industry leaders, and OCLC will present a strategic update on products and services. The afternoon will be broken out into two tracks, one focusing on OCLC ILL products and services, the other on OCLC Research & the Research Library Partnership (RLP).

Celebrate our strong community of ILL librarians and 40 years of OCLC interlibrary loan services. You'll find ways to improve operational efficiency, save time, and better connect end users to the information they need. It's a unique opportunity to interact with a very knowledgeable community of ILL professionals.

This event is free of charge, but registration is required.

Edith Cowan University (ECU) University Librarian, Constance Wiebrands, is your representative on the OCLC Asia Pacific Regional Council (APRC) Executive Committee. Constance will provide a Member update and share results of The Future of Global Resource Sharing International Survey of Librarians.

Dr. Marie-Louise Ayres, Director-General, National Library of Australia, and representatives from the National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa), will share top priorities and challenges for the National Libraries and their leadership role, with special attention to how they are opening up and sharing their collections.

RLP Program Officer Dennis Massie will present results from his recent resource sharing research, highlighting how collective collections and the desire to share special collections are influencing changes in practice.
