After 3 amazing years running this course we are happy to announce that we are back in 2020 with a new and improved course which includes 4 different packages!

Road2Worlds is the industry’s leading Training Package for individuals looking to compete in OCR. We have previously focused on 2 main peaks, the OCR European Championships and the OCR World Championships. For 2020 we will also be including the U.K Championships. Even if you are not attending the Champs we still get lots attending just to raise their game and become more competitive in other OCR events.

All training is done on the site of the U.K’s top obstacle training venue – The P.T Barn, and is delivered by 2 of the most experienced OCR Coaches in the game. Last year we bought in additional coaches when required to keep the high standards.

We have worked hard over the last 3 years and have put all of our experience and knowledge together to bring the U.K the very highest quality training course for the competitive OCR participant. This year we have raised our game once again and in 2020 you will be signed up to our best one yet!

Over the last 3 years we have had countless R2W podiums at World, European, National, League and Individual Event level in both Elite and Age Group. Just as importantly we have also had the most amazing progressions with different abilities.

2019 was the first year that we have split the courses into ability level and it worked even better than expected. Those on the ‘Improvers’ Course told us how much more comfortable they felt training with people of a similar ability and felt they were able to take so much more from it.

Each of the packages are made up of 4 dates set throughout the year. Some of the courses are classroom and training based and some are just training based (although you will still be given online documents and will be expected to do homework away from the course).

Course 1 Intermediate/Advanced Full Course – 4 Days total.

The package starts with 2 days of fully loaded targeted education where you will learn the R2W Blue Print for a successful 2020 season. We will work through a range of performance analysis techniques and cover in depth topics such as, training structure and programmes, to sports specific nutrition and pre-hab to assist in keeping you at your best. In these sessions you will carry out a range of fitness, strength and technical tests which will give you a guideline to help structure your ongoing training. The 2nd two days are packed with a wide range of Hands on training, drills and skills which will progress on from the first 2 days. You will not only learn the skills in a controlled environment, we will also test you in race style conditions to make sure you will be able to perform out on the course.

Who is this package aimed at?

This course is aimed at those who are already competitive in both Elite or Age Group who are looking to take their OCR Game up to the next level. You will be training with like minded / similar ability people who will work together to get the most out of one another. We expect you to have good running, fitness, strength/conditioning and obstacle ability as well as a good understanding of training. Perfect for those who have been on previous courses but now want to dive into more detail and progress even further or for those who are currently training/racing at this standard and want to learn the R2W Blue Print. Obviously, this course is limited to just 12 people so that we can maximise the quality in the first two sessions. Fitness testing will also be done on a Rig undercover. If you are unsure which course is right for you please just ask. You will follow a similar training plan to the Improvers version of this course but will be expected to train at a higher standard and intensity.

Day 1 – 02/02/20 – 09:00-17:00.

OCR Fitness Assessments – Where are you at?
We will be looking at a wide range of Basic Strength, Power, Speed, Fitness, Flexibility, Balance, Running and Technical tests and giving you advice on areas to work on.

Pre-habilitation
We will look at common weaknesses which predispose athletes to common injuries and give you exercises to assist in keeping you functioning injury free.

Recovery
We will teach you a range of techniques used to aid recovery. Some of these include Foam Rolling, Stretch and Mobility exercises.

Race Planning
We will discuss events which we would advise you signing up to and which we believe will aid in your performance at the World Champs. It is important to make sure that all of your races have a purpose.

Training Schedules
We will talk about training generally and give examples of training schedules to help you get your training functional and specific to your goals.

Goal Setting
We will be helping you work out exactly what your goals are. It is important that you set a range of goals to help keep you focused and on track.

Day 2 –22/03/20 - 09:00-17:00.

Technical Skill Grading
We will assess you through a range of different technical skills and grade you accordingly. You will be expected to work on key areas.

Technical Training
We will work on a range of non-pressurised techniques to get your skill level up to where it needs to be. This will start with high recovery – high quality training.

Pre-Race Warm Up Drills/Exercises
Race performance can be majorly affected by the quality of your warm up. We will show you how to warm up in such a way that you can get maximum results out on the course.

How to Asses Races
It is important to be able to assess races individually. This includes doing your homework with regards to the race/conditions etc and what to do when you turn up in the morning.

How to Race
Getting around a course as quick as you can and learning how to actually race is very different. We will show you how.

Prehab Progressions
Progress with exercises you were given on day 1.

Practice Self Treatment
It is good to go to Physios but there is a lot you can do yourself to help keep your body moving well.

Pre/During/Post Race Nutrition
We will teach you how best to maximise performance via your nutrition.

Day 3 –19/07/20 - 09:00-17:00.

Pressurised Technical Training
It is all good being able to do technical obstacles in dry/controlled conditions but are you ‘Race Ready’? Add water/noise/people watching/us shouting and can you now compose yourself to get over the obstacle?

Fitness Session
You will work through a structured Fitness Session which you can take away and use as part of your training programme. The programme will be created to get you meeting the requirements needed for the champs. The session will include a range of functional exercises put together to get the most out of your fitness out on the course.

Strength Session
You will work through a structured Strength Session which you can take away and use as part of your training programme. The programme will be created to get you meeting the requirements needed for the champs. You will learn a range of Strength exercises which we feel will be needed out on the course.

Run Session
You will start by working through a range of running drills designed to help condition your running and hold better form for longer. We will then move on to a Running session which you can take away and use as part of your training.

Day 4 – 23/08/20- 09:00-14:00.

Race Ready
The last day of the course is always a cracker! We will bring all 4 groups together and put your skills to the test. We start the day learning some complex skills which we believe will appear at the World Champs and then move onto a range of race scenario drills.
