Enjoy a mini guided tour of this magnificent William Adam Mansion House nestled in the heart of Midlothian just 11 miles from Edinburgh.

About this Event

Home to the Dundas family since 1571, the family still live in Arniston House today. You are invited to join in an engaging mini guided tour of this beautiful William Adam Mansion House while the history of the Dundas family and Arniston are put into unique context with Scottish and World events. The Arniston collection contains generations of family portraits and exquisite artworks by such artists as Ramsay, Raeburn and Nasmyth; as well as beautiful period furniture, stunning architecture and stucco work. Enjoy a relaxing stroll in the beautiful grounds and experience the joy of the countryside on the doorstep of the city.

Arniston is thrilled to announce the return of Family Guided Tours for the 2021 season. The tour will be limited to the ground floor reception rooms and feature the Main Hall, John Adam Dining and Drawing Rooms and the Oak Room lasting approximately 45 minutes. Visitors will be asked to utilise hand sanitation stations at entry points and face masks will be required indoors at all times. To ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines and Government requirements for social distancing, we have a maximum capacity of 6 visitors with an additional 2 spaces possible if visitors are from same household. Please notify if you are attending with anyone else and if they are or are not from your household.

The grounds will be open to the public at no charge from Noon to 5pm on tour days and we ask all visitors to please comply with all social distancing policies at all times.

The staff have conducted thorough risk assessments for each room as well as practice tours to ensure social distancing measures can be upheld at all points on the tour.
