2026 First Aid Course for ESIY and IYG Teachers

IY(UK) requires all teachers to maintain their emergency life support skills. You are expected to attend a First Aid or Heart Start or equivalent certified course covering CPR and use of a defibrillator at least every 3 years.

You will need to provide details of a valid first aid certificate when you renew your teacher membership in March 2026.

East of Scotland Iyengar Yoga have organised first aid training at Yoga Now in Edinburgh on Saturday 21st February 2026, and iYoga Glasgow have organised first aid training at Studio Harmony in Glasgow on Sunday 1st March 2026.

Both training sessions are available to both ESIY and IYG teachers, to provide some flexibility for teachers. The sessions will be delivered by the same provider.

This course takes place at Yoga Now on Sat 21 Feb 2026 from 10am until 1pm.

It will last three hours and will meet IY(UK)'s requirements for the first aid certificate that all teachers must have. First Aid certificates need to be renewed every 3 years.

There are 20 places available at £35 per person.
