Cynllun Peilot Hwylusydd Lles (HLl) Cymru - Sesiwn Ymwybyddiaeth gyda Sesiwn Holi ac Ateb

Nos Lun 06.12.21 (19.30-20.30) drwy Zoom

Mae iechyd meddwl gwael wedi cael ei gydnabod fel problem ddifrifol ar draws y diwydiannau creadigol ymhell cyn y pandemig. Ym mis Chwefror 2020, nododd yr Elusen Ffilm a Theledu yn ei hymchwil 'The Looking Class' fod 87% allan o 9,000 o ymatebwyr wedi cyflwyno problem iechyd meddwl o'i gymharu â 65% ledled y DU, roedd 24% wedi hunan-niweidio o'i gymharu â 7% ledled y DU ac roedd 55% wedi ystyried cymryd eu bywydau eu hunain o'i gymharu ag 20% ledled y DU.

Canfu Adroddiad Bectu gan Brifysgol Bournemouth, 2021 fod arferion gwaith gwael – oriau hir, anghymdeithasol; diwylliant o fwlio; diffyg cefnogaeth mewn a hyfforddiant a datblygiad, nodwyd diffyg hyfforddiant i reolwyr fel rhai o'r problemau allweddol sy'n wynebu'r diwydiant. Roedd 93% o'r ymatebwyr naill ai wedi profi neu wedi gweld bwlio ac roedd 68% wedi ystyried gadael y diwydiant (hyd yn oed cyn y pandemig roedd hyn yn 55%)! Nid oedd 70% o'r rhai â chyfrifoldebau rheoli/goruchwylio wedi derbyn unrhyw hyfforddiant rheoli.

" Fel undebau creadigol credwn fod angen newid diwylliannol yn sector creadigol Cymru . I ddechrau, rydym yn gweithio gyda chyflogwyr a rhanddeiliaid yn y sector sgrin i sicrhau bod arferion gwaith y diwydiant yn addas ar gyfer yr 21ain ganrif"

Siân Gale, CULT Cymru

Cefndir

Mae CULT Cymru yn gweithio gyda 6ft From the Spotlight a phartneriaid yn y diwydiant - gan gynnwys y prif ddarlledwyr a Cymru Greadigol - i ddatblygu a gweithredu'r rôl Hwylusydd Lles Llawrydd (WBF) ar Gynyrchiadau Sgrin yng Nghymru.

Rydym yn chwilio am unigolion i hyfforddi fel Hwyluswyr Lles, sy'n angerddol am iechyd meddwl a lles a sydd am greu amgylcheddau gwaith mwy cyfartal a chadarnhaol.

Nod y rôl yw:

Cefnogi criw a chast gyda'u hiechyd meddwl a'u lles ar gynyrchiadau.

Darparu gwybodaeth a chymorth i gynhyrchwyr a phenaethiaid adrannau ar sut i atal straen a phroblemau iechyd meddwl ac i gyflawni eu dyletswydd gofal cyfreithiol i'r gweithlu

At bwy mae'r sesiwn hon wedi'i hanelu?

Unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn dysgu mwy am y rôl, sut mae'n gweithio ar gynyrchiadau ledled y DU a sut y gallai weithio yma yng Nghymru. Mae croeso i bawb, p'un a ydych yn ystyried gwneud cais i ymgymryd â'r rôl eich hun neu os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn clywed mwy.

Nod y Sesiwn

Darganfod a thrafod rôl Hwylusydd Lles ar gynyrchiadau ffilm a theledu yng Nghymru. Gan gynnwys:

  • Beth fyddai cyfrifoldebau'r HLl ar gynhyrchiad penodol?
  • Beth fyddai manteision cael HLl?
  • Pa hyfforddiant a datblygiad sydd eu hangen i ddod yn HLl?
  • Sut y gallai hyn weithio i'r criw a'r cast ?
  • Beth yn eich barn chi sydd angen digwydd i alluogi awyrgylch gwaith gwell yn y sector sgrin?

Gyda'r rôl eisoes wedi'i chyflawni'n llwyddiannus ar sawl cynhyrchiad byddwn yn clywed gan Leo, Matt a Michelle o 6ft From the Spotlight beth fu'r manteision penodol i'r gweithlu a'r cwmni cynhyrchu.

Bydd rhagor o wybodaeth am rôl WBF ar gael yn fuan.

Well Being Facilitator (WBF) Cymru Pilot - Awareness Session with Q&A

Monday 06.12.21 (19.30-20.30) via Zoom

Background

Poor mental health has been recognised as a serious problem across the creative industries well before the pandemic. In February 2020, the Film and TV Charity in its research 'The Looking Class' reported that of the 9,000 respondents 87% had presented with a mental health problem compared to 65% UK wide, 24% had self harmed compared to 7% UK wide and 55% had contemplated taking their own lives compared to 20% UK wide.

Bectu’s Report by Bournemouth University, 2021 found that poor working practices – long, unsocial hours; a culture of bullying; lack of support in training and progression, lack of training for managers were cited as some of the key problems facing the industry. 93% of respondents had either experienced or witnessed bullying and 68% had considered leaving the industry (even prior to the pandemic this was 55%)! 70% of those with management/supervision responsibilities hadn’t received any management training.

“As creative unions we believe that there needs to be a cultural change in Wales' creative sector . We are initially working with employers and stakeholders in the screen sector to ensure that the industry's working practices are fit for the 21st century”

Siân Gale, CULT Cymru

CULT Cymru is working with 6ft From the Spotlight CIC and industry partners - including the main broadcasters and Creative Wales - to develop and implement the Freelance Well Being Facilitator (WBF) role on Screen Productions in Wales.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about mental health and wellbeing who want to engender more equal and positive working environments to train as Well Being Facilitators.

The aim of the role is to:

  • Support crew and cast with their mental health and wellbeing on productions.
  • Provide information and support to producers and heads of departments on how to prevent stress and mental health issues and to meet their legal duty of care to the workforce

Who is this session aimed at?

Anyone who is interested in learning more about the role, how it's working on productions across the UK and how it could work here in Wales. All are welcome, whether you are considering applying to undertake the role yourself or are interested in hearing more.

The Aim of the Session

To discover and discuss the role of the WellBeing Facilitator on film and television productions in Wales. Including:

  • What would be the responsibilities of the WBF on a given production?
  • What would be the benefits of having a WBF?
  • What training & development is required to become a WBF?
  • How could this work for crew and cast?
  • What do you think needs to happen to enable a better working environment in the screen sector?

With the role already been undertaken successfully on several productions we will hear from Leo, Matt and Michelle from 6ft From the Spotlight what have been the specific benefits to both the workforce and the production company.

Further information about the WBF role will be available shortly.
