20in20 for the MS Trust: Churchill and World War 2
Thu 25 May 2017, 10:00 – 11:30 BST
WW2 was a difficult time for Londoners. Food rations were scarce, the falling Nazi bombs scary and unpredictable. It was a struggle to stay alive.
Prime Minister Winston Churchill was the man in charge. Along with his most trusted cabinet ministers he set up base in a secret underground bunker (now Churchill War Rooms), where they carefully planned the downfall of the Third Reich.
We will hear the story of great personal sacrifice and triumph, and see some of the main sights - many related to Winston Churchill - in Westminster.
The tour will last about 1.5 hours and will end at the Churchill War Rooms which you are welcome to visit at your own leisure after the tour.
