Event description

Not everyone will be able to make it onto the streets of London to physically participate in person in one of the amazing range of 20in20 walks. However, fear not because you will still be able to enjoy a fantastic guided walk of the City of London, wherever you are in the world!

20in20 have partnered with Visible VR London to provide a virtual tour, which can be enjoyed by anyone with an Internet connection and access to smartphone, tablet computer, laptop or desktop.

Join us remotely from anywhere on the planet for a quirky visit to the ancient City of London, the historic core of the British capital. The City of London is the seed from which the sprawling metropolis of Greater London eventually emerged.

Founded by the Romans, this part of town has always been a bit of a conundrum. Always proudly independent and different, this tiny Square Mile is England’s smallest ceremonial county. It is also a city inside a city, steeped in ancient tradition and with its own police force, Lord Mayor and customs.

Today, the City of London is the pre-eminent centre of global finance…but that’s only part of the story. Before the arrival of soaring skyscrapers and international banks, this part of town was for generations where some of the capital’s most notable citizens lived and worked.

Our virtual tour introduces you to some of the highlights of the City of London, including its wonderful and eclectic architecture and some of the world famous institutions that are based here. You’ll learn what a diverse and truly unique place this tiny Square Mile is; small in physical size yet truly global in its reach.
