Event description

Description

This 20s Plenty event will focus on the various aspects of performance management which often proves a challenging part of the HR role.

As HR professionals, we are responsible for ensuring that we have legally compliant policies and procedures and, more importantly, that managers in our organisations have the skills and knowledge to be able to implement these procedures.

This event will provide you with the chance to explore different elements of performance management and to consider how we can increase our effectiveness in this area.

Presentations will be provided by Andrew West and Marie Allen (both Employment Partners) and Brian Morron (Consultant and Part-time Employment Judge) from Gotelee Solicitors.
In view of the importance of engaging line managers in performance management processes and equipping them with the skills necessary to deal with such issues, Kay Gilligan, Training Services Adviser at ACAS, will also give a presentation on Handling Difficult Conversations in the workplace.

You will be part of a group of 20 which means that there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions.

You will be in good hands… here are some details about the speakers from Gotelee Solicitors:
The Legal 500 which is an impartial view on legal service providers says (2015): Gotelee Solicitors is ‘fantastic at guiding clients through difficult situations’. Andrew West, who advised a local employer on multiple grievances and race discrimination claims, ‘goes the extra mile’.

In the 2014 edition The Legal 500 commented that Andrew offers ‘crisp assessment of commercial aspects and risk factors’ and the clients of Gotelee Solicitors have ‘no hesitation in recommending the firm’ for HR matters.

Marie Allen presents the Gotelee quarterly HR Forum for HR professionals and their annual Employment Law Seminar for local businesses. Her clients tell her that her advice is clear, easy to understand and to the point. In the 2016 edition The Legal 500 commented that Marie ‘always gives the right answer’.

Brian Morron has been identified by the Legal 500 as a Leading Individual for both planning and employment work

To help you to focus during the session refreshments will be provided.
