Breakout Workshops
Delegates are invited to choose to attend two workshops from the list below - one for the morning breakout session and one for the afternoon. Please ensure to make your workshop selections when purchasing your ticket.
1. Overcoming Imposter Syndrome.
Led by Anna Croucher, Senior Occupational Therapise and Wellbeing Coach, this practical workshop will demystify imposter syndrome whilst understanding why it's here in the first place! Participants will leave the session with practical tools and techniques to use every day to help themselves, and others tame imposter syndrome and prevent it holding them back in the workplace, and life, any more.
2. Brains, Boundaries, and Banter: Mental Health Conversations at Work.
Tom Oxley, Workplace Director at Bamboo Mental Health, draws on a decade of experience reviewing employers and interviewing people with lived experience to discuss how we talk about mental health at work. Expect practical tips, examples of best practice - and a few horror stories. Participants will explore key mental health conversation points, setting boundaries, managing HR processes, legal considerations in workplace banter, and more.
3. Strength, not Deficit.
Jane McNeice is a wife, mother, grandmother, and business owner who, at the age of 45, received her own life-changing diagnosis of autism. Jane passionately believes that the success of her business, Mind Matters, lies in her own diagnosed condition and the strengths it provides, including higher-than-average determination and perseverance, driven by a common autistic trait. In this workshop, Jane will discuss this trait, its relationship with success, and what happens when that is met with ableism.
4. Menopause and Mental Health - Let's Talk.
A most needed session focusing on the taboo subject of the menopause. During this talk, business owner, Marie-Clare will exploring the stigma associated with the meopause, the range of symptoms, and the impact that the menopause can have on our mental health. Marie-Clare promises a frank and honest discussion on the menopause to give better understanding, bring people together, and reduce stigma.
5. Anxiety in the Workplace.
Join Dave Smithson, Director of Communications and External Affairs for Anxiety UK, as he delves into the causes and challenges of workplace anxiety. Gain valuable insights, connect with others facing similar challenges, and take proactive steps towards a healthier work environment.
