21 - Rhondda School seeks support - Rhondda - 20 Volunteers
Fri 12 May 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
This Primary School caters for pupils aged three to eleven years old and is located near the village of Tonypandy. There are 216 pupils on roll.
The school fears that the play areas at the rear of the school do not look appealing as everything is concreted and there are no green areas. The school would appreciate volunteer input on how to improve this space for the children.
The yard games have mostly worn away although enough is still visible for volunteers to go over them with new paint, volunteers would also be welcome to design and paint some new games on the yard.
There are 3 small benches which would benefit from painting and some large tyres which could be painted and planted. Volunteers could also construct some raised planters to add some colour to the yard. Additionally, there are some railings and a wooden structure which the school would like painting. Also volunteers could weed the walls surrounding the yard which tend to have lots of weeds growing out of them.
The school will be able to purchase some of the materials but does have a limited budget and would appreciate any contribution made by volunteers
