21. Shipwrecks of the Solent

Richard M Jones reveals the stories behind some of the shipping disasters in the Solent.The stretch of water between the Isle of Wight and the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth has been one of the busiest shipping areas around the British Isles since antiquity. It is no surprise that the Solent has claimed so many ships in its time.Author and historian Richard Jones has dedicated his life to the research of shipwrecks and other historic disasters that history may have overlooked. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time to get seated and comfy. The bar will be open for hot and cold drinks before and after the talk. The Alverbank is a Grade 2 listed building with stunning views across the Solent.

There is a small carpark at the Alverbank, but your vehicle registration MUST be given at Reception. Other carparks along Stokes Bay Road, just a few minutes walk away.
