About this event

Whether you are totally new to mindfulness or meditation or you already have an established practice (or somewhere in between!), you are welcome to join this monthly 60 minute session.

Susan will guide you through a mindfulness meditation via Zoom to give you the time and space to pause, relax, let go of whatever has been going on for you that day and reconnect with a state of inner calm and peace.

There will be a introductory talk for about 5 minutes then the meditation will be around 25-30 minutes and there will be time for questions or discussion after, if you would find that helpful.

You don't need any special equipment to get the benefit from this. It is helpful to be in a quiet place where you can close the door and minimise distractions (from other people, phones, TV's etc). If you have a meditation cushion or stool that is great, if not, any chair in your house is fine. Or, if you want to lie down, you could put a yoga mat or blanket on the floor with a cushion under your head for comfort.

This is a great way to "try out" mindfulness meditation if you are new to it and if you already practice it is a wonderful way to benefit from the energy of practicing with a group.

If you are new to mindfulness and you have recently experienced trauma or a significant and difficult life event (such as bereavement, redundancy, diagnosis of an illness) I would ask you to consider whether now is the best time for you to start practicing mindfulness. It can be challenging to turn towards the stuff that is going on in our mind and body at the best of times and when we have something challenging going on it can make it even more difficult. If you are currently taking medication or seeing a mental health professional, please speak to them before you sign up. When you decide you are all set simply register and you will receive an email with the Zoom link to enable you to join the session. Zoom is really easy to use but it may require a bit of software to download, if you haven't used Zoom before, that is quick and easy to do.

You are welcome to join and enjoy the meet up for no cost with the invitation to donate whatever you feel able to or would like to after the session if you feel it has been beneficial. Details on how to donate will be sent after the session along with a recording of the meditation.
