If you’re responsible for running a not-for-profit group then this has to be a date in your diary.

Being a trustee or committee member of a charity, voluntary or community group can be a daunting prospect for new and experienced people alike. There’s no magic formula for success, but strong leadership from those in charge is essential.

Our annual conference dedicated to trustees and management committee members gives you the opportunity to share experiences with peers, refresh yourself on your roles and responsibilities and learn from experts on how to make your leadership team as effective as it can be.

This unique event is split into two sessions. Delegates are welcome to attend one or both sessions.

Trustee conference 2.00pm-5.30pm

This conference provides time to focus on the unique challenges facing trustees and management committee members and will provide an afternoon of practical inspiration from local and national governance and trusteeship experts.

As well as insightful and stimulating plenary speakers and interactive breakout sessions this afternoon conference will provide you with the opportunity to share your experiences with peers and extend your network of contacts. You’ll take away essential, practical tips and tools to help your leadership team operate as effectively as you can so your charity is making the most impact.

Who should attend?

Management committee members, board leaders and trustees. Chief executives may also find this of interest.

Trustee matching fair 6.00pm-7.30pm

Do you want to become a trustee? Or are you an organisation with trustee vacancies? This informal, but highly effective, networking session will kick off with refreshments and a welcome address followed by plenty of time for charities and individuals to meet, learn more about each other and hopefully develop a long-lasting relationship.

As an organisation, you will be able to put into practice everything you learn from the afternoon conference on how to attract new trustees and, once you’ve registered, we’ll send you tips on how to make the most of the fair to find your perfect match.

If you want to become a trustee this is the perfect event to meet with a variety of charities all under one roof. Whether you’re just putting a toe in the water and want to learn more about what’s involved, or if you’re determined to find the right charity for you, our matching fair can help. Once you’ve registered we’ll ask you for a few more details so we can point you to the most relevant charities on the night.
