FREE DIOCESAN TRAINING

Attendees should arrive no more than 30 minutes before the start of the seminars

Afternoon 3.30pm: Stewardship

Giving as a lifestyle witnesses to our Lord and Saviour, who is the Giver of all. In the Stewardship seminars we will discuss:

  • strategic planning and principles of giving towards the future of your church
  • the role and importance of the Parish Share in paying for clergy ministry and sharing resources across the diocese
  • how the Parish Giving Scheme and Legacies can assist in giving strategies
  • stewardship resources for you to consider
  • background information for reaching out to the future generation of parishioners who wish to donate but who don’t carry cash.

This seminar is for any PCC or church member keen to discover God's plan for the Stewardship of His church and strategies to achieve that goal.

Evening 7.30pm: Annual Reporting

Download the free Guide to Year-End Reporting from https://www.chichester.anglican.org/Information for PCC Treasurers

In the Annual Reporting seminars, we will discuss the presentation of the statutory financial accounts, reminding all members of their responsibilities to

  • present accounts that are comparable and conforming to current best practice
  • segregate income and expenditure into proper funds
  • present a compliant statement of assets and liabilities
  • include additional information in notes to the accounts
  • arrange a compliant Independent Examination
  • follow statutory deadlines for the APCM
  • submit on time the annual Church of England Parish Return and the Charity Commission returns
  • manage and oversee Parish and Schools Trusts.

Annual Reporting seminars assist all PCC members to know their responsibilities for the content of trustee reports and their oversight of trusts.

If the layout and content of your annual reports have not changed since 2015 or before, this seminar will seek to maintain compliance with current best practice, and to make advance preparation for the registration of all PCCs with the Charity Commission in 2021 (subject to there being no change in the law).
