Wednesday 28th September
Citylabs 1.0, 08.00am-10.00am
25 Years of Cystic Fibrosis Diagnosis – A Journey of Discovery
Citylabs Lounge is a monthly networking event for clinicians, academics and healthcare businesses located in the heart of Manchester’s Innovation District. These events give a valuable opportunity for people working in the healthcare and life science sector to engage with prospective clients and customers, as well as discussing some of the most topical issues of the day.
At this month’s seminar, Wednesday 28th September, Elucigene Diagnostics will share it’s journey and experiences, spanning 25 years, of the advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cystic fibrosis - from the discovery of the CFTR gene to the present day.
Elucigene Diagnostics is a leading global developer and manufacturer of genetic testing products used to diagnose human genetic disease - with particular focus on prenatal testing and reproductive health. The ever increasing demand for more information for less cost has driven the development and application of new technologies and chemistries in Elucigene’s products. And the implementation of more stringent regulatory controls and requirements has resulted in a highly efficient and compliant operation here in Citylabs. The move to Citylabs in 2015 together with the ‘buy out’ of the Business from Hologic Inc. in 2013 has re-invigorated Elucigene activities and opened up further growth opportunities.
