It is appropriate for all key stages:

In May 2025, a new definition of Dyscalculia and Specific Learning Difficulties with Maths was agreed by the Specialist Assesment Standards Committee (SASC) board.

Many schools are looking to expand their awareness in this area to enable them to best understand and support learners who are struggling to make progress with Maths.

This course will be invaluable in ensuring you have an overall understanding and awareness of specific maths learning difficulties and dyscalculia.

It includes:

  • Using the SASC definition to explore maths learning difficulties and dyscalculia
  • Key Problems and Solutions - a Y5 case study
  • Inclusive classrooms and principles for effective teaching
  • Maths anxiety
  • Resources to support monitoring and evidencing a graduated approach
  • Signpost to further support for effective teaching of maths, standardised tests for maths and maths intervention programmes

We look forward to working with you.
