About this event

This is for Leicestershire LA schools and academies only

This course is for SENCOs, Early Years / KS1 teachers and practitioners, and support staff. Ideally support staff are accompanied by the SENCO or appropriate members of staff who have the capacity to impliment changes.

With structured synthetic phonics the driver for teaching all children to read, we are well placed to pick up children at risk of persistent literacy difficulties / dyslexia early on.

Observation and assessment of risk factors which inform adjustments to provision for these children is discussed.

Areas of learning include:

  • the factors that make up an at risk profile
  • identifying risk factors through observation and assessment
  • matching primary needs to adjustments, support, and intervention

This course has been very well received over the past two academic years.
