With an unparalleled discography of almost the entire string repertoire, the ESO is one of the longest-operating and most widely admired professional string orchestras in the world. This concert in the orchestra's hugely popular Shirehall Sunday series celebrates the glories of the Romantic string orchestra repertoire with beloved masterworks by Tchaikovsky and Grieg framing a rare performance of Hans Gál's stunning and melodic Concertino for Cello and Strings, being recorded in the same weekend for future CD release.
