During this workshop, we will introduce you to 2D digital fabrication and will show you how to design simple forms and objects and how to digitally make it using our laser cutter and vinyl cutter.

Workshop programme:

1. Draw a simple shape and or/text on Inkscape

2. Upload your design as a DXF on the Laser or vinyl cutter software and set up the cuts and engrave for a customised box, coaster, or another small object.

3. Set up the machine and watch the magic happen!

4. Combine your object parts together and take it home with you

This workshop will take place physically in Fab Lab Plymouth, in compliance with the social distancing rules with a small group of 6 participants. Material will be provided by Fab Lab Plymouth and Plymouth College of Art.

At the end of the training, participants will be accredited with a Smart Citizen digital badge that can be added to your CV, email signature or LinkedIn profile to highlight your new skills in digital design and fabrication.
