The 2nd summer school on accessible and inclusive technologies invites academics, PhD students, and industry professionals interested in research related to accessible computing, inclusive design, assistive technologies, and disability innovation.

Each day will feature outstanding speakers who will share their expertise on topics related to accessibility research, participatory and inclusive design, responsible AI, and human-computer interaction research. Participants should expect 4 full days of research talks, interactive sessions, and networking events.

The school was made possible thanks to the support from ACM.

All registered students will receive a 1-year complimentary ACM membership and a certificate of participation.

About Borås:
Borås is the historic center for Sweden’s textile industry and the weaving machines of the past have transformed into an international center for fashion and textile design. Today, leading research and education within textile and fashion are conducted at the University of Borås, in addition to all our other subject areas.

Borås is also a city of culture, street art, sports, and shopping. The city has everything from cosy cafés, trendy boutiques, calm forests, beautiful lakes, to popular clubs and bars, award-winning restaurants, and convenient transportation options.

Travel information:
Borås is located in south-western Sweden, quite close to Gothenburg on the west coast, with good connections to Stockholm on the east coast. The closest airport is Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT), which can be reached in 35 minutes.

Venue:
The summer school will be held at the Textile Fashion Center, home of the University of Borås' School of Textiles.  
 
The Textile Fashion Center brings together businesses, educational institutions, and research organizations to offer innovation support, first-class education, community-driven research, and a vibrant environment for learning, culture, events, and experiences. 

Doctoral Consortium:

PhD students will have the opportunity to present their work as part of the doctoral consortium during the summer school. If you wish to present your research or technical prototypes related to accessible or assistive technologies, please indicate this in your registration or contact Arthur.Theil@bcu.ac.uk for more information.
