Event description
Bringing together researchers working in hypoxia and providing ample opportunity to present talks and posters.

About this Event

After the success of last year's hypoxia symposium (highlights video above) which focused on research surrounding the tumour microenvironment, we are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd Hypoxia Symposium, which will be held at Don Whitley Scientific on October 22nd 2020. This one day symposium is designed to bring together hypoxia researchers engaged in combatting a variety of diseases, ranging from cancer to neurodegenerative conditions.

To aid and facilitate research in hypoxia there will be no charge for registration, there are however limited places available, so please register early to avoid disappointment.

The full programme will be made available in due course, but we are pleased to announce that confirmed speakers so far include: Professor Cormac Taylor (University College Dublin), Professor Sonia Rocha (Liverpool University), Dr Scott Allen (Sheffield University), Dr Isabel Pires (Hull University), Dr James Nathan (Cambridge University) and Professor Karen Kirkby (Manchester University).

To develop the junior members (PhD students and Post Docs) who wish to pursue, or are already pursuing research in hypoxia, there will be an opportunity to present posters and the chance to do a 3 minute flash presentation.

If you wish to be considered for a short presentation or a poster at the symposium please contact the organising committee with a short abstract and the title of your talk.

An award will be presented on the day for the best poster and best flash presentation.

The full programme detailing talks and posters will be made available in due course.

As all of our products are manufactured in-house, the event will also include an introduction to the R&D team and a tour of our facilities. This will provide an insight into how we innovate new concepts from theory through to the finished products.

Food and refreshments will be provided on the day - please advise us of any special dietary requirements at point of registration.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact one of our committee members:
