The Strategic Safeguarding Quality Mark Framework is a new and innovative approach to safeguarding, intended to provoke thinking and redefine safeguarding provision. The Quality Mark Framework is designed to enable educational settings to strengthen strategic safeguarding and showcase their excellence in safeguarding provision.

The Strategic Safeguarding Quality Mark Framework is the result of extensive research and practical experience in education and safeguarding leadership. It has been shaped by a wide range of expert contributors, including specialists across key safeguarding domains and senior leaders from primary, secondary, and special schools. This collaborative development ensures the Quality Mark reflects both strategic rigour and real-world relevance, supporting schools to lead safeguarding with confidence, clarity, and impact.

The Framework empowers schools, MATs, and Local Authorities to celebrate Education’s contribution to safeguarding and gives clear descriptors and support for individual, local or national development of strategic safeguarding.

This framework is not another complaince checklist, this Strategic Safeguarding Quality Mark Framework has been designed to support the development of and celebrate safeguarding provision "beyond what is expected and inspected!"
