Over the last few months 2nd year textile students from UCLan have been collecting things from around Preston to use as the inspiration for new textile art work. Their project is called ‘Bower Bird’ and is based on the bird that likes to find things to decorate its nest. The students have been collecting 3 objects a week for the past 10 weeks on a theme of their choice. Most have been sourced locally in Preston; many have been bought at Preston Market. These objects will be used to produce textile samples and sketch books.

Come along on Tues 6 December to see where the students are up to – what objects they have found, and how it is inspiring new art work.
