Join one of Winchesters official tourist guides for this 1½ hour walking tour of the lower part of the city. The tour commences at the Visitor Information Centre and visits Abbey Gardens before following the River Itchen past Wolvesey Castle, Winchester College and Jane Austen's House and finishes in the Cathedral Close.
The tour will take place rain or shine so please dress appropriately and wear suitable footwear. Tours will leave the Visitor Information Centre promptly.
Dogs on leads are generally welcome on the tours but if you are considering bringing a dog, please do contact the VIC before booking to ensure that the tour leader is happy with the arrangement.
January - end of March 2024: Tours will run daily every Saturday at 2pm.

Adult Ticket - £11
Child Ticket - Free for under 16s. You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the adult tickets in your group. When booking for the children select the number of children's tickets you require under general admission category, enter the promotional code CHILDFREE and click apply. This allows the tickets to be purchased for free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Carer Ticket - Tickets for an essential carer are free. You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the other tickets for your group. Please select one ticket under general admission category, enter the promotional code CARERFREE and click apply. This allows the tickets to be purchased for free.
T ickets can be bought via Eventbrite until 9am on the morning of the tour. After this any remaining tickets can be purchased in the Visitor Information Centre.
