Working from a live model in the Sketchout studio this course will introduce you to the basics and intricacies of starting to paint portraits in oil paints.

The course will run from 10am till 4pm on 3 consecutive days. There will be a break for lunch from 1-1.45. The group will eat togetherin the breakout space of the studio.

• Which brushes to use
• Underpainting and layering detail in oil
• Colour Theory and mixing
• Feature construction
• Understanding light and form construction
• Working from a model in real life.

Materials

We will provide paper and charcoal, masking tape, oil painting paper, oil paint, solvent and brushes.
