Samples processing


Fixation, dehydration, epoxy resin embedding, on either cultured cells, a piece of tissue or tissue slices for flat embedding.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Lunch

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Sectioning. Session 1.


Making glass knives, pyramid preparation, aligning the block to the knife, glass knife thick-sectioning, and staining sections for viewing in a light microscope.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Sectioning. Session 2.


Introduction to a diamond knife, use of a water boat, thin sectioning, and collection of sections from water onto TEM grid.
