Mountain Biking Session 3

We have partnered up with the team from Pedal MTB and Antur Stiniog to bring you a taster session of downhill mountain biking for Gwyl y Glaw, Bro Stiniog. So if you want to give downhill mountain biking a go, then this is the perfect place to start, with expert tuition. The team will give you a quick briefing / bike check (if using your own bike) - then you will spend some time on the pump track so they can assess your skills and give you some top tips. Then, depending on your ability, the team will work out whether you are ready to take the uplift to the top of the hill and try one of the trails. If you are, then fantastic; if not, then don't stress, there is still plenty of fun to be had on the pump track.

What level do you need to be? We ask that you are already comfortable riding a bike and that you can start and stop on your own using both brakes. If you are a more experienced mountain bike rider and want to try downhill riding or simply want to get some top tips, then you are also welcome. The team from Pedal MTB will have two coaches available to accommodate for different levels.

- (Age 8+) Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to remain on site for the duration of the session. (Also please be aware it will be a mixed age session)

-1pm (lasts 1hr 20min)

-10 riders max per group

- Where: Antur Stiniog

Please complete Pedal MTB’s Rider information form before the start of your session

Equipment: We have some bikes available to use if you don't have your own, but if you have an appropriate bike and helmet, please do bring them along, as we don't have an exhaustive supply of bikes. Please tick the box below if you require the use of a bike, and then look out for a follow-up email so we can keep track of sizes for hire bikes. (We may have to move session times around to accommodate bike hire, as we only have a limited number of bikes in different sizes)

What to bring:

• Bike and helmet in good condition (unless hiring)– these will be checked by the coach before the session starts

• A full face helmet is not mandatory, but is highly recommended

• Body armor is not essential, but is strongly recommended.

• Suitable clothing for the conditions.

• Spare layers.

• Gloves and glasses.

• Food / snacks suitable for your session

• Water.
