How will I be able to access the lesson for my class?

Accepted Answer

The lesson will be live and not recorded. Once you have booked a slot, you will be emailed details of the Zoom link. You do not need a Zoom account to join. Please join the session a few minutes early. Any problems joining the session then please email us at contact@raisingresilience.co.uk.

Question 2

What is the duration of the lesson?

The live lesson will last 50 minutes. It may be helpful to allow time shortly after the session to recap with the children what they have learnt, practice some of the calming cards and explore the posters for their classroom.

Question 3

What will I have to do during the lesson as the class teacher?

Accepted Answer

The workshop entails a quiz and class discussion, so the class teacher will need to be involved and active during the session. We find this is a great opportunity for teachers to gain a good understanding of the skills to be able to help the children remember them afterwards.

Question 4

Who else will be joining the live lesson?

Accepted Answer

To offer the session as widely as possible, 15 classrooms will join the same time slot. This is also our effort to bring together like minded schools and to show the children that we can all learn about mental health and resilience skills together.

Question 5

Who will we be able to see and hear?

Accepted Answer

Dr Kate & Dr Sarah will be faciliating the lesson at all times. We love to see everyone but you decide if you turn your camera on. We only unmute classes during the session for teachers to feedback if practically possible, otherwise we will be asking teachers to provide feedback via the chat.

Can we give feedback and comments?

Yes! We really value your feedback – if you can capture comments from the children, your thoughts about the session or parents feedback, we would really appreciate this. We will stay live after the workshop for you to share your feedback via the chatbox.

Are the presenters trustworthy?

Dr Kate & Dr Sarah are very experienced Clinical Psychologists. We hold online enhanced DBS certificates and Safeguarding L2/3.  Our safeguarding statement is wwwraisingresilience.co.uk/safeguarding-statement. Please let us know if you need further details to run your own checks.

Can this lesson be part of a whole school approach?

Accepted Answer

A whole school approach is most effective for mental health so we send handouts for parents & teachers to support shared language and learning. We can also run live parent workshops and staff training, and are creating BOUNCE online. For more info please email contact@raisingresilience.co.uk.

What is the Raising Resilience BOUNCE programme?

Accepted Answer

It is a whole school research based programme inclusive of Reception - Year 6. It involves fun & engaging workshops, resources, guidance and consultation to provide a share language for emotional wellbeing and resilience for all pupils, parents & carers, and staff, including staff wellbeing.
