Join us to hear Professor Emma Clery give her lecture titled "Jane Austen and the Duke of Wellington: Confluences of Empire in Wartime".

Emma is currently Professor of English Literature at Uppsala University and her books include Jane Austen: The Banker’s Sister (Biteback Publishing, 2017) and Eighteen Hundred and Eleven: Poetry, Protest and Economic Crisis (Cambridge University Press, 2017), winner of the British Academy’s Rose Mary Crawshay Prize. Emma lectures and broadcasts, particularly on Jane Austen and the relationship of literature and economics, and reviews for the Times Literary Supplement among other publications.
