The Alternative UK & #TOMtech present …

360° Democracy: The Politics of Immersive Technology

We are witnessing the emergence of a brand new medium for media. Exciting, enriching and potentially life changing opportunities abound. However, little is known of the impact these technologies will have on our culture, politics, emotional health and social integration.

Led by newly formed political platform, The Alternative UK, this event invites you to consider the deeper impacts of the technological revolution.

Will we be so isolated and enveloped in our headgear that corporations and states will develop unparrelled access to our opinion forming processes? How will our most intimate interactions be measured and utilised? Or perhaps these digital eco-systems will offer a new global civic space that will drive creative activism?

Through panel talks, open discussion, tech demos and creative interventions, join The Alternative UK for this fascinating event.

Doors at 6pm - programme begins (talks, workshop, VR demos) at 7pm - ends at 9pm

Inspired by and associated with Alternativet in Denmark, The Alternative UK is part of a global network of political ‘platforms’ - a place that aims to transform the language and practice of politics in the UK, working with the 98% of us who aren’t members of political parties, yet hugely impacted by their control of social, emotional and economic power.
