360Giving for charitable trusts and foundations
Wed 26 April 2017, 13:00 – 16:00 BST
We are currently running a pilot initiative across Greater Manchester that will make grantmaking in the region more effective for all.
An estimated £6.1bn of grants were made by UK grantmaking organisations in 2013/14, with £2.2bn coming from government. Within Greater Manchester, the Big Lottery alone has provided over £250m of funding since 2004. Yet at present there is no easy way to understand the funding landscape and assess its impact.
By bringing grantmakers together and working with them to adopt the 360Giving standard and open up their data, we will be able to delve deeper and better understand how grant funding is allocated and used in Greater Manchester. This will have multiple benefits such as enabling the strategic allocation of resources, identification of grantmaking activity and funding ‘cold spots’ to name a few.
This three hour workshop will introduce participants to the 360Giving standard and open data, explain its rationale, explore the benefits of using grant data with a look at some of the tools being developed, and take people through the process of using the 360Giving standard and data release.
There will be lots of time to ask questions, get help with specific challenges and eat cake (supplied).
We will be following up the workshop with further one-to-one and group support sessions
