About this event

  • Are you worried about your child’s mental health, emotional well-being or behaviour?
  • Parenting can be hugely rewarding but it can also be really hard work, especially if you think your child is unhappy or you are worried about them.
  • FREE PARENT & CARER SUPPORT GROUPS Various locations across Gloucestershire and also online using Zoom
  • For parents or carers of young people aged 11-18 living in Gloucestershire struggling with mental health, emotional well-being and behavioural issues.
  • Groups are weekly for six weeks and last 1.5 hours – these are held on the same day and time each week. Parents/carers are encouraged to commit to all 6 sessions to gain the most benefit out of the group.
  • 1 parent/carer allowed at each group.
  • Each group will be led by 2 facilitators who are fully-trained and experienced in parenting and young people’s mental health.
  • Developed by TIC+, the group is designed to inform and support parents and carers, helping them to understand their child’s distress and discover effective strategies to improve their resilience.
  • The group is also an opportunity for parents and carers going through similar experiences to encourage, support and learn from each other in a safe and friendly environment.

TIC+ offer a range of mental health support and counselling to children and young people between the ages of 9-21 living in Gloucestershire . Counselling can take place either face-to-face or remotely via online text messaging, video or telephone, whichever is preferred. We also run an anonymous drop in service, TIC+chat, which is open five nights per week (Sunday-Thursday) between 5pm-9pm.

Support to parents concerned about their child or young persons mental health is also available. This includes a Parent Support & Advice Line and a series of Parent/Carer Support Groups (either remote or in person) which run regularly over 8 weeks.
