RECRUITING, RETAINING, PATHWAYS AND SUPPORT

September is known as 'Back To School time', back to College, and University even... but in our case, its back to work after a summer break. For many busineses, it's a time for new recruits, new starts, and new development.

A recent Chamber of Commerce survey has highlighted 94% of organisations are struggling with recruitment... that's quite some statistic!

One organisation that definitely isn't struggling with rectuitment are our hosts for this month's 3D Connect, BHP Accountants. In the July to September period, they will have over 50 new team members joining them across the business... School leavers, graduates, and trainees - that's quite some achievement... and commitment.

Lisa Leighton, Joint Managing Partner of the company, will share with us their innovative recruitment and work experience programmes, and there are lessons there for anyone looking to recruit (and retain!) people - Jill met their school placement students on a 'One Week Intensive Experience Programme' recently and was totally 'wowed'!

For those who need a little help with their own recruitment, we're delighted to have the team from Opportunity Sheffield also joining us and they'll share the various initiatives they have to support businesses through training existing employees, apprenticeships, and recruitment support - there's something for everybody!

As ever, you'll hear real examples of local organisations that are making this stuff work and are benefitting in lots of ways when it comes to 'people' - It's a real focus area in Sheffield and it's only going to get better.

So, get your workbooks at the ready, sharpen your pencils, and get ready for a value adding, insightful, and relevant session to help you with your recruitment and training issues - Don't worry, you don't need to bring an apple for the teacher!
